Underfloor Heating Online were proud to support Alltec Construction in delivering an energy-efficient and modern underfloor heating solution for the newly refurbished Skoda West End Garage in Stirling, Scotland.

Designed to accommodate both customer-facing areas and service workshops, this project highlights how underfloor heating can elevate comfort and functionality in commercial environments.

Why This Project?

The Skoda West End Garage project presented an exciting opportunity to demonstrate how modern underfloor heating systems can transform commercial premises - from customer-facing areas to high-performance service zones. The client required a discreet yet powerful heating solution capable of handling large, open spaces with varied heating demands.

We worked closely with Alltec Construction to deliver a tailored solution that ensured consistent comfort throughout the garage. From the sleek new sales floor to the high-spec workshop and additional service bays, every area now benefits from efficient, evenly distributed heat delivered through a robust and long-lasting installation.

This project highlights Underfloor Heating Online ability to support complex commercial requirements with smart system design, technical expertise, and reliable supply of market-leading UFH solutions.

The Underfloor Heating System and Installation

To meet the heating demands of a large, multi-functional commercial space, Underfloor Heating Online specified the AD-RAIL system - a robust and efficient underfloor heating solution ideal for high-traffic, high-performance environments.

A total of 5,326 metres of WRAS-approved 200mm Pert pipe was installed throughout the garage, delivering even, responsive heat to every corner of the facility. The pipework was secured using over 1,000 grip rail clamp tracks, ensuring long-term stability and precise layout for optimal performance.

The system is divided across multiple manifolds to ensure zonal control and efficient operation:

  • Two 8-port manifolds
  • One 9-port manifold
  • One 10-port manifold
  • One 12-port manifold

Each manifold supplies its designated zone - from the modern sales area, which uses 1,985 metres of pipe, to the state-of-the-art main workshop, heated by over 2,200 metres. Additional service bays and back-of-house areas are also covered by the system, providing a fully integrated solution that eliminates the need for radiators or blowers.

The AD-RAIL system was chosen for its:

  • Fast, flexible installation — ideal for large commercial projects
  • Strong pipe retention — ensuring accurate layouts under screed
  • Clean, unobtrusive finish — perfect for customer-facing environments

The installation was carried out efficiently by Alltec Construction, with Underfloor Heating Online providing full technical support including CAD design, pipe layouts, and ongoing assistance throughout the process.

Why Underfloor Heating?

In car showrooms, creating a pleasant atmosphere is vital - not only for staff working long hours but also for visiting customers. Traditional heating methods can be inefficient in large, open-plan spaces with high ceilings. Underfloor heating solves this by:

  • Distributing heat evenly across the entire floor
  • Freeing up wall space otherwise occupied by radiators
  • Reducing draughts and cold spots
  • Improving energy efficiency, especially when paired with modern controls
