Modern New Build Family Home
Morgan’s End is a spacious, five-bedroom modern residence, designed for comfort and flexibility. Underfloor Heating Online supplied a fully designed underfloor heating system for the project, including all pipework, manifolds, fixings, pumps, and controls.
The solution featured our AD-RAIL system, with manifolds installed on both the ground and first floors to provide an efficient and adaptable primary heat source. The system is tailored to suit a variety of floor finishes throughout the open-plan living areas, bedrooms, en-suites, and walk-in wardrobes.
Why This Project?
This installation showcases how underfloor heating offers a seamless blend of comfort and design freedom in modern homes. With underfloor heating, no restrictions are placed on flooring choice—tiles, wood, carpet - all benefit from consistent, invisible warmth.
For a spacious property like Morgan’s End, traditional heating methods such as radiators would have disrupted the clean, open layout and limited furniture placement. The AD-RAIL system provided a discreet and efficient solution, evenly distributing warmth throughout the entire home — from the large open-plan ground floor to the private bedroom suites upstairs.
By incorporating separate manifolds for each floor, the system allows for independent temperature control in different zones, enhancing energy efficiency and user comfort. This project highlights how thoughtful system design, high-quality components, and expert planning come together to deliver a high-performance heating solution perfectly suited to modern family living.
The Underfloor Heating System and Installation
For this five-bedroom new-build, Uheat supplied a fully designed Clip & Rail underfloor heating system to meet the homeowner’s comfort and efficiency needs. The system was chosen for its flexibility, ease of installation, and suitability for the property’s screeded floors and mixed floor coverings.
The installation was divided across two levels to ensure optimal performance and zoning:
Ground Floor:
A total of 968 metres of WRAS-approved Pert pipe was laid in 12 loops across the open-plan living, kitchen, and dining areas. The design ensured an even distribution of heat, ideal for large, shared family spaces.
First Floor:
An additional 788 metres of pipe was installed across the bedrooms, en-suites, and walk-in wardrobes. Comfort was a priority in these private zones, with tailored pipe spacing for each room type.
System Components:
The full kit included:
Two 12-port manifolds (one per floor) / Control units for room-by-room temperature zoning / High-efficiency pumps and actuators / Clip & Rail fixings for fast, secure pipe placement / CAD design plans and technical support from Underfloor Heating Online in-house team.
The AD-RAIL system offered a clean and highly accurate way to fix the pipework into the insulation layer, ensuring stability and ideal coverage before screeding. The result is a completely hidden, low-maintenance system that delivers exceptional warmth throughout the home - without compromising on aesthetics or layout.
Why Underfloor Heating?
Underfloor heating is increasingly becoming the preferred solution for modern homes - and for good reason. It offers an energy-efficient, space-saving alternative to traditional radiators while enhancing the overall comfort and design flexibility of any property.
In homes like Morgan’s End, underfloor heating delivers:
- Even Heat Distribution: Gentle, consistent warmth rises from the floor up, eliminating cold spots and draughts.
- Invisible Comfort: With no need for wall-mounted radiators, homeowners gain more freedom in furniture layout and interior design.
- Lower Running Costs: UFH systems operate at lower flow temperatures, making them ideal for pairing with high-efficiency boilers or renewable heat sources like air source heat pumps.
- Future-Proofed Living: Suitable for all floor finishes - from stone and tile to engineered wood and carpet -underfloor heating adapts to every room’s style and use.
- Zoned Control: With the right controls, homeowners can manage temperatures in different parts of the house independently, boosting energy savings and personal comfort.
For new-build projects, underfloor heating isn’t just a luxury - it’s a smart investment in comfort, efficiency, and long-term value.
